Garden Plants Summer

Campanula Portenschlagiana

The Campanula Portenschlagiana is a remaining, evergreen plant of the family Campanulaceae. The plant is native to Croatia, where they occur in the mountains of Dalmatia. In the Netherlands they do not occur in nature.

The plant grows about 10 cm tall. Blooming time is from June till September. We produce this plant in a lilac-colored 21 cm hanging pot.

Nursing Tips

Light: preference for sun or half shadow
Water: water normally when the soil is dry
Fertilization: 2x per month
Colors: purple-blue

Fragaria – Strawberry plant 

Loran with white flower
Its compact plant construction and its early bloom characterize the plant. You will appreciate the large and beautiful conical shaped fruits during the whole summer. When you place the plants on a sunny spot in the garden in April-May, the flowers and fruits of ‘Loran’ will appear in a way of several ‘waves’ during summer. ‘Loran’ might possibly develop some foothills. The plants will remain nicely compact in the garden.

Its potency to grow, its apple blossom colored flowers and its aromatic fruit during summer characterize the plant. The dark-bladed plants of ‘Roman’ solely produce foothills for the bloom. The somewhat oblong fruits are medium large with a deep red color.

Toscana with red (dark pink) flower
Strawberry F1 ‘Toscana’ develops a vigorous plant with several foothills. The large, dark pink flowers appear quite quickly and later also appears on the foothills. A few weeks after the start of bloom the first fruits are ripe. ‘Toscana’ produces an abundant harvest of beautiful, conical shaped strawberries during the whole summer. The fruits are juicy and taste sweet.

Aster

Aster Novi-Belgii

The New-Dutch Aster (Aster Novi-Belgii) is a perennial of the family Asteraceae. The plant originates from North America. The plant blooms in fall, but is not suitable to be used as a cut flower.

We produce the Aster in 2 pot sizes: 17 cm and 19 cm pot.

Light: preference for sun
Water: water sufficiently when the soil is dry
Fertilization: potentially 1x per month
Colors: blue, pink- and lilac-shades, white

Pot Chrysanthemum

Chrysanthemum Indicum – Pot chrysanthemum

The pot chrysanthemum is available in several pot sizes from July till November: 23 cm pot (most common size), 9 cm, 12 cm and 13 cm pot. These plants are grown in the greenhouse. Most plants are produced in 1 color per pot, but we also produce mix-pots in trio (3 colors).

There are 2 kinds, namely topped breeding and disbudded breeding (‘Deko’ in other words fuzz-chrysanthemums with beautiful big flowers, as in the image above).

 Nursing Tips:  
House/Garden: plants are not resistant to frost, but can bear cold temperature
Light: house-, garden- and terrace plant
Water: preference for sun
Fertilization:  water sufficiently when the soil is dry
Colors: the plant has got enough nutrition, so not necessary
Colors: several in single-flowered and double-flowered
